history
A legacy in Commercial Craftsmanship
1935
First generation
The company’s origins date back to 1935, when the first generation of the family began building small sailing yachts and robust workboats for the commercial shipping industry.
1953
Second generation
Building on that foundation, the second generation established Minerva Shipyard in Amsterdam a yard renowned for constructing and maintaining a wide range of commercial vessels, including freighters, tankers, and specialized dredging equipment.
1987
Third generation
The third generation expanded the company’s scope beyond shipbuilding and servicing, evolving into a full-service commercial vessel partner. This included the trading and project management of complex vessels such as super freezer trawlers, tugboats, fast support vessels, and other mission-specific crafts always with a focus on tailored solutions and long-term operational value.
2019
Fourth generation
The fourth generation, in close collaboration with the third, is carrying the family’s commercial vessel partnership into the future. Together, they are preserving its heritage while guiding the business with a modern, forward‑looking approach. Alongside this continued legacy, the third and fourth generations have also launched a luxury boutique boat company. This venture blends tradition with innovation, showcasing their shared commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and distinctive maritime design.
